Sunset Over the Marsh, Bird Sanctuary, Ladner,    acrylic, 20"x24"        

The bright light reflects from the ocean surface and the canals as the sunsets. The crisp air seems to freeze the grass and the curtain made of the bare branches.

My favorite fall and winter daytrips are to the marshlands south and east of Vancouver. Driving through the farmlands, catching glimpses of still water with perfect reflections of branches and yellowing leaves, the sharp cool air, the fragrance of decomposing foliage. The nature holding breath before the winter frost.
